Student Loans

Marathon County Credit Union offers Federal Stafford loans for students and Federal PLUS loans for parents. Every student who has been accepted at a postsecondary school is eligible to apply for federal student loans, regardless of family need or ability to pay. You must apply for financial aid every year, even if you think you don't qualify.

To apply for financial aid from the federal government, including the Stafford Loan, Perkins Loan, Pell Grant and work-study, you will need to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA.) You can get the paper version of the FAFSA from your local high school advisor or college financial aid office. You may also fill out a web-based version of the FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov. If you have questions while completing the FAFSA, paper or electronically, call 1-800-433-3243 or 1-319-337-5665.

When you get the results of the FAFSA, stop in the Credit Union and see us for your Student Loan Promissory Note.

Marathon County Employees Credit Union provides quality guarantee, loan origination and servicing through our partnership with Credit Union Student Loan Network and Great Lakes Higher Education Corporation.
