Tips for Members: What to do Post-Breach
Be aware some payments may be moving out of your accounts faster
As our lives move faster than ever before, our members have come to expect faster payments and information. To that end,
the banking industry is now allowing electronic payments to move at a faster pace, and account balance information to be
updated more frequently during the day.
Beginning on September 15, 2017, certain electronic payments will post to your accounts the same day they were made.
This does pose some challenges you should be aware of.
If you pay a bill with an electronic payment, transfer funds to a merchant electronically, or shop at a store that converts
your check to an electronic payment, remember the following:
- Do not give authorization for a payment until you know you have the money in your account. Trying to play a timing game before you have the money available could result in being overdrawn.
- Companies may give you the option to make a same-day payment, or state they intend to collect funds as quickly as possible, and in these cases the payment could come out of your account as soon as that same day.
- If you have pre-authorized electronic payments, such as a recurring mortgage or insurance payment, it is very likely there will be no change to the time these are made.
- Not all companies will start collecting funds the same day, but be aware that they could and may choose to do so.

Online and Mobile Banking Update
For added Security - Login Changes
We added additional security to your online and mobile banking login. When you login to online and/or mobile banking, you are required to change your username – it will no longer be your account number.
Your new username must contain a combination of letters and numbers, or be a valid email address, for example: email@example.com.
Here are some tips for creating a new username:
- Do not use apostrophes ( ’ )
- Do not use account numbers
- Usernames are not case sensitive
We made this change to protect your account information. If you need any help, just give us a call at 715.261.7680. We’ll be glad to assist!

"I love MCECU's Bill Pay. It is safe, secure and with it I never forget to pay a bill.
It sends me emails before my bills come due. And best of all, I set up my bills to drop right in to
the Bill Pay site. I go there to pay WPS, Citibank and Discover, etc.". It saves me a lot of time.
Thank you for offering this great service."
